As life expectancy of the population increases the number of total hip [THA] and total knee [TKA] arthroplasties are increasing as well. Accordingly, the number of complications and revision surgery will also rise. Periprosthetic femoral fractures are largely classified by the Vancouver classification for periprosthetic fractures of the hip as well as the Rorabeck classification for periprosthetic femur fractures knee.
